For patients concerned that they may have coronavirus or may have come into contact with someone who has, the NHS 111 online service has created coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do based on their particular circumstances. These can be accessed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19
HIGH RISK PATIENTS:
We know many of you are concerned about either having received a letter stating that you're in a higher risk group or you were expecting a letter and didn't receive one. The data was collected from hospital records so it's not always clear to us why you may have received a letter. We are also waiting from NHS Digital for clarification on the additional patients who should be taking extra precautions. We are as frustrated with this delay as you are. In the meantime, please see https://digital.nhs.uk/coronavirus/shielded-patient-list for additional advice.
All appointments to be over the telephone whenever possible, telephone triage appointments are available to book online. You can use our automated phone system (option 1) or online access to cancel any upcoming appointments.
PLEASE NOTE: due to staff absences we are now closed between 1pm and 2pm. All online services are still available.
The following appointment types have been suspended with immediate effect (those already booked will be contacted):
- Travel vaccinations
- Ear syringing
- Home blood pressure monitoring
- Long term condition reviews (medication will still be issued). Your review may still take place over the phone if required
All medication will be issued on an electronic prescription (sent straight to your pharmacy) - if you haven't nominated a pharmacy, please update this on your online record or call reception.
Isolation Note for your Employer
Use this service if you have to stay at home because of coronavirus and you need a note for your employer.
Coronavirus (Covid 19) Individual risk assessments
We are receiving many requests from patients about their individual risks if they were to contract coronavirus. Some are being asked to contact us by their employer.
As a practice with over 26,000 patients, many with a long-standing health condition, we simply cannot provide a risk assessment for each individual and it would affect our capacity to provide care to our patients.
The following government website has information about potential risks.
You can check your record online to see what health conditions you do have to compare against this list. You will need to register for this here:
Each individual needs to make their own risk assessment and plan their lives accordingly.
Your employer and the employee should consider these risks and make reasonable adaptions following the National Guidance.
We are unable to provide occupational health advice to patients or their employers. Some larger employers will have occupational health advice adviser in place to help an employer to make such decisions.
