Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Practitioners are qualified to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs and to diagnose and implement agreed management plans with patients, including appropriate prescribing and referrals to specialists. Our team of Advanced Practitioners work closely with the doctors and provide pre bookable appointments for patients.

Registered Independent Prescriber 2001.  Graduated BSc Hons (first class) Nurse Practitioner July 2006.  General Practice experience between 2004 to present.

A and E experience from 1995- 2017, Diploma in Coronary Care 1998, Diploma in Accident and Emergency Nursing 1999, Minor injuries qualification 2003 Degree level, Worked as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner 2003- 2017, Independent Nurse prescriber 2017 and currently undertaking Msc in Advanced Healthcare Practice

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, and carry out cervical smears.

I registered as a Paramedic in May 2011. Prior to this I worked as an EMT for four years. I completed nine years working for the East of England Ambulance service, working on both front line ambulances and rapid response vehicles.

I moved to the Two Rivers Medical Centre in March 2016 as a paramedic practitioner. Currently undertaking a BSc in Emergency Care Practitioner studies.  I continue to broaden my knowledge and assessment with the guidance of the clinical team, and apply this learning to my role of assisting the GP with visiting housebound patients, as well as minor illness/injury clinics.

Practice paramedic supporting the GPs with home visits

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
