Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners are qualified to assess patients' physical, psychological and social needs and to diagnose and implement agreed management plans with patients, including appropriate prescribing and referrals to specialists. Our nurse Practitioners work closely with the doctors and provide pre bookable appointments for patients.

Registered General Nurse (RGN) October 1992.  Accident & Emergency experience between 1992-2004.  Qualified as a Registered Nurse (Child) October 1998. Graduated BSc Hons  Specialist Practitioner Accident & Emergency Nursing October 2001. Registered Independent Prescriber 2001.  Graduated BSc Hons (first class) Nurse Practitioner July 2006.  General Practice experience between 2004 to present.   

Ailsa Grimsey (f)

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
